A man is how up on charges after an Arlington police officer was run down by a hit-and-run driver over the weekend.

The officer was working a music event near AT-and-T Stadium early Sunday when he was struck by an SUV on North Collins.

The officer was left injured and the SUV driver  just kept going.

The police officer was checked out at the hospital and sent home while detectives were circulating security photos and asking for tips.

They also asked Uber and Lyft for help because they believed the hit-and-runner working for one of the ride-hailing services.

Late yesterday afternoon a man named Steven Turner showed up at Arlington police headquarters, saying Lyft had suspended him.

After being questioned, he was booked into the city jail on at least two charges including a warrant out of Fort Worth.
