DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Amber Alert for 18-month old Cedric Jackson was canceled around noon Thursday without explanation, some 30 hours after the child was reported missing from his aunt's Lake Highland's apartment.

Now the Dallas County Medical examiner's office confirms it has been called to the Hinton Landfill in Garland where Dallas Police have been searching through debris most of the morning.

So far, Dallas police have not given any updates in the case since yesterday afternoon. They promise information later today but have not said when.

In other developments that are related, Child Protective Services says they are now involved in the case of the aunt where Cedric Jackson had been staying. Six children were removed from that apartment, two belonging to the aunt and four that belong to her boyfriend. CPS is not saying why.

And a relative who was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and who matches the description of the person suspected of abducting the child, has been transferred back to Garland. He was described as a person of interest and for now that has not charged.
