American Air Flight Diverted To El Paso Due To Heavy Turbulence

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - More than 100 American Airlines passengers are now at their destination, but their flight made an unplanned stop in El Paso Sunday night due to turbulence.

According to reports, American Airlins flight 1897 traveiling from to Phoenix from San Antonio was somewhere over Ruidoso, New Mexico when it ran into heavy turbulence.

Reports say the plane started rocking. It was so bad, tweets from passengers on the flight described 'objects flying' and 'passengers throwing up.'

The plane was diverted to El Paso.

Upon getting off, one passenger tweeted that he'd seen a crack in the cock-pit windshield.

The passengers were all put aboard another jet, and made it Phoenix just before midnight, about three hours behind schedule.
