ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The Arlington City Council will discuss proposed new regulations on short-term home rentals during a meeting this afternoon.

The regulations would apply to property owners who rent their homes through sites like AirBnB or VRBO.

The proposal calls for those owners to register with the city and obtain a Specific Use Permit for the rental. That permit could be revoked if the property is cited for repeated violations of the city's code relating to excessive noise or improper trash disposal.

A group called the Arlington Short Term Rental Alliance has already met with city officials to offer input on the proposed new rules.

Another group representing short-term rental owners could speak to Council Members today.
