Arlington Police Officer Arrested On Family Violence Charge

ARLINGTON (KRLD) - An officer with the Arlington Police Department has been arrested on a charge of assault bodily injury - family violence.

Officer Richard Morris has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigations of the case. 

Police were notified Sunday afternoon about the incident, which had occurred early Sunday morning while Morris was off-duty. After interviewing both the victim and Morris, officers arrested him without incident.

The criminal case against Morris will be forwarded to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office for further review. He has been with the Arlington Police Department for four years and was assigned to the Patrol Division.
