Road Rage Shooting Victim

ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The man shot in a case of road rage this week in Arlington is describing the shooting as police intensify their search for the gunman.

Kyle Johnson was shot along I-20 near Collins Monday night. He was driving with his wife and two children. Police say someone tried to pass Johnson on the shoulder and hit his car.

Both cars pulled over.

Johnson says he expected to exchange insurance information with the other driver, but that other driver walked up to the side of his car immediately.

"He grabbed a gun out of his pocket or out of his back waist band, I see a silver gun come up," he says. "As soon as I saw that, I knew something bad was gonna happen."

Johnson has been released from the hospital. The bullet only grazed his head, but he says he still has headaches and ringing in his ears.

Arlington police say the gunman is a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, about 5'8". They say he has a mustache or goatee.

Police say he was driving a light-colored sports car with a hatchback or SUV. The car may have damage to the driver's side.
