Beto O'Rourke Blogs About "Run" From Near The Capitol To The White House

November 15, 2018 - 4:26 pm

DALLAS (KRLD) - In what could be described as a possible foreshadowing of his future plans to run for president in 2020, U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke wrote a blog describing a "run" he took in Washington D.C. recently

In the medium blog post, O'Rourke jogged from near the capitol to the White House, making stops all around Washington Mall.

O'Rourke boarded a flight to the Nation's Capitol this week, according to a Texas A&M student who happened to run into the congressman and Texas Senator Ted Cruz at a Houston airport.

O'Rourke, who lost to Cruz by 3% of the vote, has yet to announce his plans for the future.

A national Morning Consult/Politico poll released earlier this week has Beto as the No. 3 candidate whom Democrats want to see campaign for president in 2020. He comes just behind former Vice President Joe Biden, and Senator Bernie Sanders.

To that end, Beto has been invited to Des Moines, Iowa, home to the Polk County Democratic Party and one-third of that state's Democratic voters. Those party leaders say his approach and visions during the recent campaign excited them, and they would be thrilled to host him.

However, Beto has yet to respond to the invitation.

Following the loss to Senator Cruz, he said he would continue supporting the future. Leading many to speculate a run in 2020 was coming. Beto's blog post will pour gasoline on those fiery rumors.
