DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - One member of a missing Grand Prairie couple is accounted for.

Alfonso Hernandez was identified yesterday, after a passerby spotted what turned out to be his body in White Rock Lake. The Dallas Police Department Dive team, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Grand Prairie police detectives recovered Hernandez’s body around 9 yesterday morning.

Hernandez and his estranged girlfriend Weltzin Garcia were last seen nearly two weeks ago. His car was found parked at White Rock Lake on February 5. There is still no sign of Garcia.

Since the couple’s disappearance, their 3 and 6 year old kids have been in foster care. Garcia’s twin sister Atziry Garcia Mireles and her family have fought to gain custody of them. In a Facebook group called “Help Us Find Weltzin”, Mireles says the kids are now home with them.

Another post in the group mourns the loss of Hernandez, saying, “The Hernandez family are so heart broken right now, words cannot describe the pain we’re all going through. Please have the Hernandez in your prayers today. We still need to find my sister.”

An autopsy today will determine exactly how Hernandez died. Investigators hope it will give them a clearer picture of what happened and when.

The search for Garcia continues.
