DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Being 'Intexticated.' It's a thing, now.

AAA is launching a campaign to battle texting and driving. Daniel Armbruster with AAA Texas says the effort equates texting while driving, to driving while intoxicated.

Armbruster says Dallas and Tarrant counties are among the worst, for crashes caused by distracted driving. Dallas county's distracted driving wrecks increased 7%, year-to-year; Tarrant county's increased 6%.

AAA's Intexticated campaign will include public service announcements and a social media push.

Texas implemented a statewide ban on texting and driving last year.
