Candidates For State-Wide Offices Making Last Minute Push

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Candidates for state-wide office are making one final tour of Texas ahead of election day tomorrow.

The candidates for state-wide office are criss-crossing the state today to drum up support.

Senator ted cruz has four different rallies scheduled around Houston. Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke started in Houston this morning. He'll then come to Dallas this afternoon and finish his day in El Paso.

Governor Greg Abbott doesn't have any public events scheduled today, but he his planning a party on election night in Austin.

Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez is attending events in San Antonio and San Marcos today. She'll stop at a party in Austin tonight.

The Texas Secretary of State says about forty percent of voters in the 30 biggest counties voted early, compared to just nineteen percent voting early in the mid-terms four years ago.

Total turnout in the 2016 Presidential election was forty five percent, just five points higher than early voting this year.
