DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Carolyn King Arnold will be returning to Dallas City Hall.

Voters elected Arnold to represent District 4 on the Council to finish out the remainder of the term of Dwaine Caraway, who resigned earlier this year after pleading "guilty" to federal criminal charges.

Arnold had previously represented the district when Caraway left office in 2015 due to term limits. However, he ran again in 2017 against Arnold and reclaimed the seat. He left office earlier this year after admitting to accepting bribes.

Arnold and  Keyaira D. Saunders were the top two candidates in the November election and both advanced to the December 11th runoff.

Saunders is a community activist with ties to the Next Generation Action Network. Arnold received 59 percent of the vote compared to 41 percent for Saunders.

Arnold will serve the remainder of the current Council term and will be up for re-election in May of 2019.
