SOUTHLAKE (1080 KRLD) - The video made by group of Southlake's Carroll ISD students went viral two weeks ago, but the district and parents are still working towards a solution.

The video shows some students in a circle chanting the "N" word.

Last night parents met with Carroll ISD staff to further discuss the situation. Some parents say that video opened up old wounds, and worried them about what their kids may be facing in school.

Many parents agree the conversation about equality and respect begins at home, and that in order to move forward people should focus on unity.

A proposed solution is to increase diversity training for Carroll ISD teachers and bring cultural speakers to the district.

The students who were in the video have been punished, but the district is not able to say how.
