Cases Dismissed Against Suspects In Lancaster Cinemark Robbery

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - It appears nobody will go to jail for a violent armed robbery that caused a mass evacuation in Lancaster three years ago.

The Dallas County District Attorneys office has dropped charges against the final 5 people arrested for the violent take-down robbery at the Lancaster Cinemark 14 movie theater that happened in August of 2016.

The theater manager was clobbered in the head with a gun and 200 people had to be evacuated from the theater when five masked gunmen stormed the building.

All five were arrested and police said several appear to have been former employees. But after one woman pleaded guilty in exchange for probation, the cases have been dropped one by one.

The final of the cases was dismissed after a judge ruled all evidence obtained after the arrest was inadmissible.

Neither Lancaster Police nor the Dallas County DA's office have responded to requests for comment.
