Cleburne & Rio Vista Fire Departments Rescue Person Trapped In High Water

CLEBURNE (1080 KRLD) - Members of the Cleburn Fire Department and Rio Vista Fire Department worked together to rescue a person trapped in high water early Monday morning.

Report say a woman tried driving through a low-water crossing on County Road 1224, west of Cleburne.

Johnson County Emergency Management Director Jamie Moore says that crossing was buried under about three and a half feet of water, and those floodwaters picked up her car and moved it about 100 yards downstream.

The woman was able to make it onto the top of her car, and rescuers were able to move her to safety.

Moore says with the flooding happening in the county all at once, crews had not yet gotten around to barricading that crossing.
