DALLAS (1080 KRLD) — Democratic ex-NFL linebacker Colin Allred defeated Republican House Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions in the Dallas race for Congress.

For 21 years, Sessions served the voters in the 32nd district. That is no more.

Allred thanked his supporters and says the voters in north Texas stuck with him when the pundits believed they didn't have a chance.

Two years ago the democrats didn't even field a candidate to face Sessions. Now they have a new name in Washington.
