PROSPER (1080 KRLD) - A family in Collin County says it has been receiving credit and debit cards no one signed up for.

Last month, Donny Holman says he heard a car outside the family's house in Prosper. He went outside about 30 seconds later, but the car was gone.

He says surveillance video showed a car stop in front of his mailbox and then pull off.

"I've heard and seen a lot of things with criminals, but I was not aware they were gutsy enough to try to beat you to your own mailbox," he says.

Holman has been warning neighbors that video shows one car stop at his mailbox September 21. A different car pulled up three days later.

The family then started receiving credit and debit cards.

The US Postal Inspection Service says it receives 27,000 complaints for fraud, including identity theft, each year and makes 10,000 arrests.
