DENTON (1080 KRLD) - A Corinth man has died in Denton after being struck by a Denton County Transportation Authority train.

Monday evening, Joseph Whelen was riding his bicycle when he crossed the tracks near Brinker Road and Colorado Boulevard. He was hit by the approaching train and died at the hospital just before 8:00 p.m.

The train stopped at the crossing which remained closed for more than two hours. But shortly before 10:00 p.m. DCTA tweeted out that all of its trains were again running on schedule.
