Couple in Serious Condition, Recovering After Dog Attack
DALLAS (KRLD) - Two people were seriously injured Saturday morning after being attacked by a pack of dogs in Ferguson Park.
Police said they received several calls around 8:30 a.m. about the attack, which involved three dogs. Police arrived during the incident and reported seeing the dogs attacking a man and woman in the park. A responding officer opened fire, killing one dog and injuring another. The third dog escaped and was later captured by Animal Control.
The owner of the dogs, who has not been identified, says he feels badly about what happened.
"They’re not aggressive at all with a bunch of people," the owner told NBC 5 News. "But normally, the police told me when they get out in a pack, they act different."
The owner said the pack included a Doberman, a pitt - rottweiler Mix and another mix. A neighbor shared a video of two of the dogs she had taken shortly after they escaped from their owners. She said she called police before the attack occurred.
An investigation into the incident has been opened; no charges have been filed at this time.
