DALLAS (KRLD) - A Dallas man is dead after being electrocuted while trimming trees around his house.

Dallas fire-rescue says the man was in a lift bucket close to a power line when it made contact with one.

Power to the line had to be cut off before his body was lowered to the ground.

Jen Meyers with OnCor says, unfortunately, this is not the first time something like this has happened.

"If a homeowner sees a tree that is close to a power line, you can always call OnCor and we will send a crew out to cut it. Never do it yourself," she says.

Meyers says OnCor is routinely trying to trim trees in the areas they are most needed.
