DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - More than 40 employees at the Dallas Morning News have been laid off.

The paper has been suffering huge financial losses over the last year. 20 of the 43 who were let go are in the news side of the paper.

A journalism professor from the University of North Texas calls it a sad day for news. Tracy Everbach says when you lose reporters, you lose watchdog journalism.
