November 01, 2018 - 3:48 pm

DALLAS (KRLD) - The man accused of running over a Dallas police officer last month has made it out of jail after posting a $100,000 bond, KRLD's L.P. Phillips reports.

57-year-old Boniface Madubuko says he would like to return to his job driving for Uber despite the incident, however, the company says he's fired.

Madubuko is accused of trying to drive around an accident scene on I-20 near Mountain Creek Parkway when he hit the officer so hard he was thrown 90-feet.

Mike Mata of the Dallas Police Association tells Phillips that the officer is showing signs of improvement.

A fundraising page for the officer has been set up through the Assist The Officer Foundation in Dallas. Mata says anyone wanting to donate can give without mentioning the officer. His name has been withheld at the request of the family.

Madubuko is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.
