Dallas Police Arrest 3 In Connection With Violent Crime Spree

December 11, 2018 - 9:38 am

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas police say they have arrested three people as part of their investigation into a string of robberies in Dallas and Carrollton. Nine people have been robbed since November 30.

The robberies have occurred in Oak Cliff, Old East Dallas and near Fair Park. One person was robbed in Carrollton. In each case, victims were robbed outside their homes; some had just pulled into their driveway and were sitting in their car.

The robbers have pointed guns at the victims and demanded they hand over material they were carrying. Several cars were also stolen.

Police brought three people in for questioning Tuesday morning. One was arrested for aggravated robbery.

Police say another was driving a car that had been stolen; the third was arrested on unrelated charges. They say more arrests could follow.

Police say people in the areas where the robberies occurred should stay alert.

"Not just with this recent string of offenses, but that's every day. It's unfortunate. I don't want to scare people, but you should always be mindful of your surroundings," says Deputy Chief Thomas Castro. "I'm not laying blame on these victims. These victims didn't have time to react, but always be mindful. Never open the door for somebody you don't know. That's just every day and all day."

Dallas police are working with Carrollton police as they continue investigating.
