DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas Police will hold a special fundraiser today at the Northeast Substation.

The community event will raise money for Officer Crystal Almeida and Home Depot employee Scott Painter, who were shot while confronting a theft suspect on April 24th.

Officer Rogelio Santander was killed in the shooting.

Patrol Bureau Chief Avery Moore says Almeida is out of the hospital and doing well. He says Painter is also continuing to recover.

Today's fundraiser also benefits Dallas Officer Joey Scott, who was seriously injured while training for the Volunteer Games.

The fundraiser runs from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dallas Police Northeast Substation on Northwest Highway near Audelia Road.
