Dallas To Require Apartment Complexes To Provide Recycling Service

June 13, 2018 - 1:29 pm

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Dallas City Council has approved a plan to require apartment complexes to provide recycling service for residents.

On Wednesday the Dallas City council voted unanimously on an ordinance that will require apartment complexes in the city to provide recycling service for residents.

Councilman Lee Kleinman says the move will affect rent prices, and not in a good way.

"Many of this same community advocating for mandatory recycling is also advocating for affordable housing, and this is going to drive rent costs up" said Councilman Kleinman.

The new ordinance will require apartments to provide eleven gallons of recycling capacity, per unit, each month.
