DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - After the recent storms, sanitation crews from the city of Dallas have their hands full.

As residents wait for piles of storm debris to be cleared from their yards, the city is temporarily changing the rules on brush and bulk collection.

Dallas residents are asked to only put out storm debris for bulk collection for the remainder of June and all of July.  Normal brush and bulk service will be suspended in July, when only storm debris will be collected.

Residents with tree debris from the storms can go ahead and set it out for collection.  Dallas Code Compliance is temporarily suspending citations for storm debris left at curbside.  You are asked to be patient, as collections will be delayed.  Residents are asked to separate tree limbs from items such as damaged fencing.

Dallas Sanitation Services plans to bring in outside contractors to help with debris removal over the next several weeks.

For those who do not want to wait, residents can utilize transfer stations or the McCommas Bluff landfill to self-haul debris on designated days.

The city of Dallas plans to resume normal brush and bulk collection in August.
