DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas woman is facing up to 10 years in federal prison for stealing the personal data of hospital patients.

According to reports, Krystal Ann Hodge has agreed to a plea deal for running a tax refund scam based on information she gathered while working at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Prosecutors say Hodge was a certified medical assistant and was gathering the information about dozens of Dallas County jail inmates who were being treated at Parkland.

The Dallas Morning News reports Hodge is the second Parkland Hospital employee in recent months to mis-use patient data.

Last year, Viju Mathew was been sentenced to 30 months in a healthcare fraud scheme.
