DENTON (KRLD) - Denton County deputies are looking for three men they say killed and mutilated two dogs.

It was in December of last year, that the deputies say a 7-year-old golden retriever and a 2-year-old lab mix, got frightened by a storm and ran off from their Justin residence. The owners went looking for them the next day but couldn't find them.

Eventually, the dogs' bodies were found on Indian Trail Drive. Both had been shot and mutilated.

A witness reported seeing a possibly black truck with three men inside driving down that road on the day the dogs went missing.

Two were white between 25-30 years old, one with long blonde hair the other with long dark hair and a beard. The third man was black between 25 and 30 years old with short hair.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
