DENTON (1080 KRLD) - A local restaurant will honor Vietnam veterans Thursday with a free meal.

The Texas Roadhouse restaurant located at I-35E and Brinker Road in Denton says the veterans will be able to select items from a special menu as a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day tribute.

The day is now celebrated March 29th each year, after President Trump signed the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act.

Texas Roadhouse owner Ricky Rijos says service men and women from their era have never been properly recognized.

"So I decided to feed them complimentary tomorrow, off our special menu" said Rijos. "I decided to open up special for them, we're not open on Thursdays. I also made a memorial outside the front of the building for them."

Members of the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Denton Fire and Police departments, will be on hand to greet veterans and thank them for their service.

The free meals are being offered Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
