DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A North Texas city is among the top ten in the nation for finding a job, according to a new study. WalletHub compared 180 cities using 30 metrics including availability of jobs, employment growth and monthly average starting salary. The city of Plano earned the number 7 spot among the best cities for finding a job while Scottsdale, Arizona grabbed the top spot.

Is it any surprise, though? Plano is home to several major corporations including JCPenney, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Rent-A-Center, Cinemark, Frito-Lay, Toyota Motor North America and more.

“What’s really interesting is there’s a multiplying effect between all the large employers we have and small businesses who do business with those large employers. And what it does, is it creates an ecosystem of business,” said Steve Stoler, Director of Communications and Media Relations for the city of Plano.

Other key cities included in the study are:

-Irving, No. 21

-Dallas, No. 26

-Grand Prairie, No. 36

-Garland, No. 46
