Dogs That Mauled Dallas Woman Have Been Euthanized

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The four dogs that mauled a woman early Sunday near Fair Park have been euthanized.

The unidentified woman remains in the hospital in critical condition after Dallas police say the dogs attacked her while she walked near Fair Park.

The viciouos attack happened around 2:00 a.m. Sunday on Hamilton Avenue.

Neighbors reported heard the woman screaming and helped get the dogs under control. 

Dallas Animal Services took the four dogs, which were 2 pit bulls, a boxer, and a heeler mix and euthanized them.

Official say the animals will be sent to a lab for rabies testing.

A total of 16 tickets were also issued to the owner of all four dogs for violations associated with loose dogs, no rabies vaccine, no microchip and not being spayed or neutered.

Investigators are still deciding whether to pursue Serious Bodily Injury charges against the owner.

Two meetings will be held with the Dangerous Dog Task Force where they hope to hear from the public on the matter.
