GARLAND (1080 KRLD) - A man is locked up in Garland after leading police on a long, winding chase overnight.

Beginning late last night, Garland police tried  to pull over a Honda Civic on 635 near Forest Lane. But the driver sped off and it turned into quite a pursuit.

The civic went west on 635 to I-35 in Dallas and headed south where it exited at Walnut Hill. It wound around for awhile and got onto Highway 183 near Regal Row. Then it was south on Loop 12 where the car hit a guardrail -- but just kept going south to I-20 and then over to Spur 408 and up to I-30, heading east on 30 all the way to 635 where it all ended.

Police officers and DPS troopers got the driver on the ground and slapped on the handcuffs. The man was still not very cooperative so a trooper and an officer had to carry the man to a squad car to be hauled to jail on a slew of charges.
