Duncanville, Carroll Move Up In Texas High School Football Rankings

Duncanville and Southlake Carroll are steadily moving up in the Associated Press Class 6A high school football poll.

The two North Texas schools each moved up a notch in the latest rankings released Monday.  Duncanville (5-0) is at No.5, while Carroll (6-0) sits at No. 6.  Allen (6-0) gathered 21 of the 24 first-place votes in 6A, and remained a solid No. 1.  Galena Park North Shore (6-0) is now second, followed by Converse Judson (5-0) and Longview (6-0).  Euless Trinity (5-1) fell out of the state top ten after losing to Haltom Friday night.

In Class 5A, Aledo (6-0), Highland Park (6-0) and Denton Ryan (6-0) continue to occupy the top three spots.  Frisco Lone Star (5-1) moved up one spot to No. 6, while Frisco Reedy entered the top ten in the latest poll.  Reedy (7-0) is tied for tenth with College Station (5-1).

In 4A, Argyle (6-0) remains at No. 2 behind top-ranked Carthage (6-0).  The Eagles received five first-place votes this week.  Midlothian Heritage (5-1) held firm at No. 6.  Brock (5-1) stayed at No. 7.  Stephenville (4-2) is ranked ninth in 4A.

Gunter (7-0) is ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, while Muenster (6-1) is No. 7 in 2A.​
