Election Day For Cities Across North Texas

May 04, 2019 - 10:11 am

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The polls are open right now, as cities and school districts across North Texas hold elections today.

Experts predict it will be paltry compared to last November, when there were statewide races on the ballot. Collin County Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet looks for an overall turnout between 10 and 12 percent.

He says it's ironic that most skip local elections that determine local issues. Dallas will vote on a new mayor and decide all 14 city council seats.

The polls are open until 7 p.m. Saturday.
