RED OAK (1080 KRLD) - Ellis County is a step closer to getting its second Google data processing center.

Yesterday, County Commissioners approved a ten-year tax abatement to encourage the company to build a new facility in Red Oak, about 15 miles south of Dallas.

City manager Todd Fuller stresses that negotiations are still underway and there's nothing final yet.

Similar tax incentives are in place for a Google campus in Midlothian.

Both agreements call for the company to create at least 40 full-time jobs at each site within five years.
