Families Of First Responders And Service Members Raise Awareness

May 27, 2019 - 10:24 am

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - People from across the country have come to Reverchon Park in Dallas to show support for service members and first responders who've died in the line of duty.

They've been walking through the park since yesterday afternoon to "Carry the Load," raising awareness and money for their families.

Almost 7,000 American flags have been planted in the park to represent each person who's died in the line of duty since the September 11 attacks.

"Carry the Load" has raised almost $22 million for the families of fallen service members and for those who've been wounded in the line of duty.
