DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A former nurse who is already under indictment for attempted capital murder in Collin County is now under indictment for capital murder in Dallas County.

A Dallas County grand jury returned a capital murder indictment Tuesday morning for 45-year old Billy Chemirmir.

Chemirmir was arrested in March for trying to smother a Plano woman with a pillow.

Chemirmir is at the center of an investigation into almost a thousand cases of unexplained deaths and attacks.

Nearly all the files under investigation involve elderly women who may have been in nursing homes. But while officials in Billy Chemirmir's hometown of Eldama Ravine, Kenya say he worked as a home healthcare nurse, Bruce Holter of the Texas Board of Nursing says he had no such license here.

"Mr. Chemirmir is not a Texas-licensed nurse, nor is he licensed anywhere in the United States," Holter told KRLD's L.P. Phillips. "He's not a nurse aide, either, as far as we were able to determine by checking the nurse aide registry.
