Fort Hood Soldier Dies In Combat In Afghanistan

A soldier from Fort Hood, Texas  died in combat this week, according to officials. 

The pentagon says 24-year-old Sgt. James Johnston of Trumansburg, New York was assigned to the 79th Ordnance Battalion (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 71st Ordnance Group, at Fort Hood.

The Pentagon said Thursday that Sgt. Johnston and another soldier died of wounds sustained from small arms fire while engaged in combat operations.

Johnston's family plans to have him buried in Texas.
