FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - One North Texas school district is working to recruit teachers from Oklahoma, and it's using billboards to do it.

The Fort Worth ISD is using ten billboards in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman and Stillwater to entice teachers to work in Fort Worth, advertising starting salaries of $52,000.

Oklahoma teachers recently went on strike demanding better pay...their starting salaries are just over $31,000 a year.

In a news release the Fort Worth district wrote the "passion and concern for children recently demonstrated by thousands of Oklahoma teachers" are characteristics Fort Worth ISD wants in its teachers.
