FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - High wind may have led to several shattered windows on a high rise in Downtown Fort Worth. The fire department was called about 6 am about glass falling from Wells Fargo Tower.

The first crews to arrive found windows broken on the 17th floor. The fire department says a cable had broken loose on a window washing platform. That cable blew around and broke windows.

"That cable's been blowing around in the wind," says the fire department's Mike Drivdahl. "Our big concern is the falling glass."

Fort Worth has shut down Commerce Street between First and Second, beneath the window.

"We're making sure there's not going to be any more glass that falls onto the street, assessing for any further damage," Drivdahl says. "Just really keeping the public safe at this point is our number one goal."

No one was hurt, and no one was on the platform at the time. The Fort Worth Fire Department does not have a timeline to reopen Commerce.
