DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - If you can't be born in Texas, get here as fast as you can. To a lot of people, it's no joke. They're doing it.

Four North Texas counties rank in the Top 10 in the United States, gaining the most people.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, and Collin Counties drew almost 150,000 new residents from 2016 to 2017. And the bureau says most of those gains aren't births, they're people from other parts of the country, moving to the Dallas metro-area.

In the cluster of counties surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth, two out of every three new residents since 2010 have come from other areas of the state or the country.
