FRISCO (1080 KRLD) - A North Texas man is under arrest after threatening police officers and starting an hours long standoff.

Frisco Police say 24-year-old Jeremy Quaschnick locked himself in a house on Donley Drive, not far from Stonebriar Center.

Around 8:00 p.m. Monday, officers were sent there for a welfare check.

Quaschnick had pointed the gun at officers before locking himself inside. He also fired several shots inside the empty house, but there was nobody else in there and there were no injuries.

Frisco police say they negotiated with him for a long time, but eventually they got him outside and into custody.

Quaschnick is charged with aggravated assault against a public officer. He is in the Collin County jail on $10,000 bond.
