GARLAND (KRLD) - In Garland, an unidentified man is dead after being shot during an online transaction gone wrong.

The man was pronounced dead at a home in the 3700 block of Hawaii Drive, but it appears he was trying to rob the people living there. This happened around 10:30 last night.

Garland police say the homeowner Quan Tran and his girlfriend had arranged online to buy a camera from this man, but when he showed up to the house, he threatened them with a gun and demanded money.

The man then started assaulting Tran, and at some point, Tran pulled out a gun and shot him.

Neither Tran nor his girlfriend were seriously hurt. The suspect had no ID on him whatsoever, so investigators are still trying to find out who he is.

At this point, no charges are expected to be filed, since it appears the shooting was in self-defense.
