DALLAS (KRLD) - Some Walmart stores in North Texas are now offering fresh Gerber baby food.

The retail giant has teamed up with the 91-year-old baby food company to launch Gerber's Freshful Start products. Gerber is trying to compete with other fresh food start-ups like Little Spoon and Nurture Life.

Walmart has installed refrigerated cases in its baby food aisles for the fresh, ready to eat products which cost between $4 and $6.

Some Walmarts in Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri are also testing the fresh offerings.
