GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD) - Police in Grapevine are looking for a pair of brazen thieves.

On Monday night, they went to a Chevron station on Northwest Highway and stole 1,600 gallons of diesel fuel.

“The thieves just parked that huge trailer over the tank,” says Grapevine Police spokeswoman Amanda McNew, “and the driver was inside being a distraction or doing other things while a second person was able to get all the fuel into that big trailer.”

It took them about 90 minutes to complete the heist.

“They pull in and park the trailer at about 9:20 or so,” says a McNew; “and 10:50 — so an hour and a half later — they took off.”

It took the gas station owners two days before realizing that the gas was gone.

“The clerk is behind the counter so there's only so far that they can see,” says McNew.
