MINERAL WELLS (1080 KRLD) - A huge grass fire in Palo Pinto County continues to burn this morning.

Texas A&M Forest Service officials call it the 'Suprise Fire,' involving at least 500 acres along state highway 180 between FM 4 and FM 919 in the town of Palo Pinto, just west of Mineral Wells.

Hot, dry conditions are making it hard for crews battling the fire.

Crews have been using planes and helicopters to try and douse the fire, crews on the ground have been battling it as well.

Officials say the fire is about five percent contained. So far no structures have been damaged.

No word yet on how it started. No one has been hurt.

A separate fire that burned about 200 acres in Hood County was finally contained last night. That fire damaged one structure along Highway 377 in Granbury near the airport.
