DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Lawyers with Texas Riogrande Legal Aid and the El Paso Bar Association are offering free help.

TRLA Attorney Veronica Carbajal says, "Even though they are grieving. Even though some are still in physical pain.  Life hasn't stopped. So, we want to make sure victims are aware of their rights when it comes to mortgages, landlord/tenant issues, unemployment issues due to their injuries."

She says TRLA can also help with applying for survivor or disability benefits with the Social Security Administration.

She says they can help locate and assist with the prevention of repossession of vehicles.

Those who need TRLA services can call their disaster hotline (866) 757-1570 or come in person to the El Paso office (1331 Texas Ave., El Paso, 79901) Mon.-Fri. from 8 am to 5 pm.
