HALTOM CITY (1080 KRLD) - Police have arrested five people for a series of convenience store robberies.

Haltom City Police responded to two robberies within a few hours of each other Thursday, December 6. Three more robberies were reported over the weekend in Haltom City and Richland Hills.

A clerk was shot in the robbery at Mr. Convenience at 3624 Denton Highway last Thursday. Police say 17-year-old Bryan Rodriguez was arrested at a robbery the same day at a different store about two miles away.

Haltom City police say they spent the weekend following leads and arrested four others. Three suspects Francisco Moreno, Edgar Meza, German Navarrete are all 17-year-old and Martin Chazarreta is 18-year-old.

They have been charged with aggravated robbery, drug possession and organized criminal activity. One was charged with evading arrest; another was charged with unlawful carry.

Police have not said which suspect they believe shot the clerk.

Police say they are now working with other departments to see if the suspects may be involved in other crimes, but they have not found any evidence the cases in Haltom City are connected to a string of robberies outside homes in Dallas and Carrollton.
