DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Doctors fear conditions are just right for a measles outbreak in Texas schools this year.

The Department of Health says up to 57,000 kids are unvaccinated, after their parents opted out of vaccines for school. The department says that's a 20% increase in vaccine exemptions since 2003.

A study by the Public Library of Science Journal of Medicine finds Houston, Fort Worth, Plano, Houston, and Austin are tops in the nation, in the number of parents who claim vaccine exemptions for their children.
