Dallas Police Looking For Person That Ran Over Bicyclist

July 02, 2018 - 12:15 pm

DALLAS (KRLD) - The Dallas County Sheriff's Office is turning to the public to help them solve a fatal hit and run accident that happened nearly two weeks ago.

On June 20, just before 11:00 p.m., Officers and emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident involving a bicyclist on Northwest Highway at the entrance ramp of S/B IH-35.

Authorities discovered the victim, Ashley Nicole Ahlawat, had been struck by an unknown vehicle while riding a Limbe Bike in the crosswalk at the intersection of the highway and entrance ramp.

The vehicle fled the scene and Ahlawat was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital a short time later.

Dallas County Sheriff's detective Raul Reyna says there were no security cameras in the area, and although several people stopped to try and help Ahlawat, nobody saw the vehicle who hit her.

Officials say the vehicle they are looking for may have some sort of front-end damage and may have some green paint on it from the Lime Bike.

If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Vehicle Crimes Unit at (214) 589-2325.
