HURST (1080 KRLD) - The Hurst City Council has formally banned all short term rentals, after a number of complaints from people living there.

Last night’s council vote was unanimous.

People in support of the ban say that those who were living as short term renters clogged up the neighborhoods with noise, trash and cars.

There are some people who put money into making their homes available who aren't pleased about the new rule. Those people will have until next June to comply, or else risk paying up to $2000 in fines.

The city of Arlington was also expected to vote on short term rentals at their meeting last night, but they’ve postponed that until their next meeting in January.
